Monster Hunter Rise has been confirmed for a PC release. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto told IGN Japan that it should release sometime in early 2022. “We received a lot of requests for a PC version of Monster Hunter Rise, particularly from overseas players, and so we have decided to develop a version for PC, which we aim to release in early 2022.”
The PC version is still under development though and more details will be provided “when the time is right.” For many fans, this seemed a given, especially with how popular Monster Hunter World turned out on PC. But due to a massive leak at Capcom, it’s been known that Monster Hunter Rise would come to PC eventually.
The same leak indicated that Rise would be exclusive to the Switch for six months with Nintendo apparently paying $6 million for timed exclusivity. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is also reportedly PC-bound but an official announcement has yet to be made. Capcom will host a new Monster Hunter digital event next month so perhaps we’ll learn more about it then.
Monster Hunter Rise is currently slated to release on March 26th for Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
