The next World Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator has a release date – or rather, a release window. It’s out between February 9th and 11th according to Asobo Studio in a new live developer Q&A. This World Update will focus on the United Kingdom, delivering over 70 new points of interest, five airports and five photogrammetry cities. It was originally slated for January but faced a slight delay.
In the recent Q&A, Microsoft Flight Simulator head Jorg Neumann sat down with Asobo CEO and co-founder Sebastian Wloch and executive producer Martial Bossard to talk about what’s next. They confirmed that the next World Update would focus on France and Benelux (the latter comprised of Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg). It’s currently planned to release in March, though this could change down the line.
Requested features from fans, like a freeware section in the marketplace and being able to download certain content like FlyByWire Simulations A32NX within the game, were also discussed. The latter is being prototyped so it could be added sooner rather than latter. A Scenery Gateway system for editing existing scenery is also being prototyped so stay tuned in the coming months.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is currently available for PC and will release for Xbox Series X/S in Summer. It’s still coming to Xbox One as well.
