Ubisoft Aims To Add Cross-Play To All PvP Titles

Cross-play is, thankfully, no longer the contentious issue that it was just a few months ago, with Sony – who were the last holdouts standing in its way – having dropped their walls. Several major games now support cross-platform play across all consoles, and it goes without saying that several more will do so in the future as well.

Ubisoft is keen on making sure that all its PvP titles are among those games. Speaking recently during the company’s latest quarterly investors call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that the publisher wants to add cross-play to all its titles with PvP, and that that is a process that is already underway, which means we should be seeing that come to fruition sooner rather than later.

“Our goal is to put cross-play on all the PvP games we have, over time,” said Guillemot. “That’s well on the way.”

The most obvious candidate for this would have to be the hugely successful Rainbow Six Siege, which is a game that has been looking at cross-play for a while now. Meanwhile, For Honor is another major PvP-focused Ubisoft title that is likely to benefit from cross-play. There are other major Ubisoft games with significant PvP portions as well, such as Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint, The Division 2, The Crew 2, and others. It wouldn’t come as a surprise to see all of them supporting cross-play eventually.
